I wanted to post about making Mauri become real!  As in a 3D printed figurine!

So, I opened Blender and started modeling the first version of Mauri. With the help of Youtube tutorials, I quickly came up with the rough design. I mirrored the sides to make him symmetric horizontally. I wanted him to have a blocky, low poly feeling. 

We ordered a special ocra color blend and mixed it with a transparent resin. One Mauri takes over 3 hours to print in our resin printer. After it is washed and hardened under an UV light. After drying, Mauri's face is painted, his eyes, nose, and fangs with corresponding colors. This process takes about 40 mins per Mauri. It took us at least 6 iterations to get the correct size and look for Mauri but now we think it is perfect.

And the best part of the design?

Mauri's tale doubles as pencil holder. Yes, you can have Mauri hold your favorite pencil when you are not using it. He will take good care of it.

I'm thinking about including this figurine as an extra item if you order the physical game combo... Would you guys be interested in owning your own Mauri Mursu figurine? :D
